I. Lying Heart

Do you deceive me lying heart?

my love fails you each time

I want to feel something for another

appreciate their art

In the mirror no passion nor

other

A darkened mirror dirt covered

Myself I fall in love

no confidence in self a beachless shore

Self-love be discovered

I hate the heart, I loathe myself

no more

II. A Rose that Bloomed in Reverse

It was a rose that bloomed in reverse

All pedals shall one day fall

But a pedal cannot be replaced once it has shed

It must be nurtured and cared for from the day that it sprouts

The tenderness of its soil just as bold as the soothing silk of each pedal

A soil that preserves pedals will cease to fall

Cease to shed

But only bloom in prosperity

It was a rose that bloomed in reverse

It was a child that grew in reverse

All shall one day be shamed for their face

But a child cannot be picked up once their spirit has been spoiled

They must be told of their beauty from the day they are born

Each brick to the bone in their body is apart of their grace

For if their outset is praised then their self-assurance shall cease to fail

Cease to doubt

Only encourage oneself

It was a rose that bloomed in reverse

III. Gold Stains Ivory

A mirror’s touch is stained with gold

But gold is an ivory remanence

Remanence of a tear dripping into a shallow stream

No more want in my tears

No more pain in my eyes

No more hate for the blood in my bones

It all lies in the ivory stain on a mirror

Grasped on high in the hearts of the lost

Bellowed below the hands of self-abuse

No more want in my tears

No more pain in my eyes

No more hate for the blood in my bones

A stronger desire for this exterior longs within the agony

An immense pain washes over my blood

Change won’t transition without the bodies aid

No more want in my tears

No more pain in my eyes

No more hate for the blood in my bones

Ivory will remain ivory in its dim lighting

Glistening features slowly become an artistry

Ivory washed clean and my skin shall breathe once more

No more want in my tears

No more pain in my eyes

No more hate for the blood in my bones

IV. Because of You

I beg of you speak truth to me

Believe I do for you don’t lie

You say you see what I don’t see

In my eyes a thousand skies

Now even though I plea I’m weak

I know you have spoke truth before

Within the midst of words, you speak

My beauty will begin to soar

Because of you, I am a sign

A mirrors light that shines with you

The words you spoke have been so kind

A yellow sun no longer blue

To love myself he played the part

For Beauty comes defined by heart
