Rainy Days
Rain can mean many things, but for this girl, rain meant the perfect time to read. Scanning the black, dusty shelves for the perfect book with the rain pounding in the background. Finally, she found what she had been looking for. Smiling, she reached for a book with a blue and yellow cover. Walking over to the large, red couch, grabbing a soft grey blanket that had been laying there. Settling down, and looking out the open window, down to the busy road, and out at the trees and creek. Taking a deep breath in, smelling the rain, and feeling the wind on her face. The clouds grey and dark, cars racing along the black asphalt road outside, rain heavily pouring. Yet the girl was still smiling. Sitting back into the couch, she opened the book, and smiled when she read the first line. Pulling the blanket over herself, she settled down, preparing for an afternoon lost in the pages of fiction.
