Because if you I know what it’s like
To feel love for one
One with two identities
Because of you I have grown
And developed a thick skin
Thick skin I never knew I needed
Because of you I have felt pain
That was brought on by your greed
Greed that filled our separations
Because of you I have felt loss
But more importantly hope,
Hope that I will one day find everything you are not
