Sing in me Muse
Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story
Of that quick-footed young man so talented in the game of basketball
Who since before he could walk,
Worked and planned out his goal
Of making it on the high school basketball team.
He saw the highly skilled professionals
And learned the skills of many talented men
And weathered many bitter nights and days
In his deep heart on the court while he fought only
To become better than all the others.
So to one day play on the hardwood of his future high school.
For that is the dream of many.
No, he would not let his dream be only a dream.
In order to make the team, he knew
He would have to be the best, Muse...The very best.
Countless hours of hard work and learning the game
For sweat becoming a part of his daily routine.
Until that fateful day came when it was tryouts.
Knowing he would have a spot on the team.
Knowing that he had worked harder than all the other wanting boys.
