You become the deer,

Petrified by the hunter.

Finally,

You start to let people in,Death,

Is what everyone fears,

Death is imminent,

Just like it is imminent for you to grow old.

When someone you know dies,

You feel lonely,

You question why they left you.

They're gone,

You know that,

But don't know how to cope,

You become lost,

It is as if no one can find you.

You neglect everyone,

As if you want to feel this way.

Anxiety takes over,

You fear everything,

They help you,

You start to cope with death,

Become less depressed.

In the time you spent grieving,

You realize a personal change,

You are less negative,

More enthusiastic about everything,

The world makes sense again.

They're forever in your heart,

They were never gone,

Simply remembered.

The author's comments:

I made this in class when an assignment was assigned to me by my ELA teacher, Mrs.Young. It started out as an assignment but then my dog died. And a year before that so did my grandmother. I went through a lot and tryed to filter some of it out through this poem.
