Another night afloat as I look out on my tiny boat.

A lost boy beside the reflection beneath the endless sky.

Clueless, when all I do is look at the same midnight hues.

Taken along a drift named time,

to a shore that is unknown to my mind.

Alone, with no one to call out for guidance.

So scared of getting older

I’m only good at being young

What destiny holds is a date with the shore that awaits.

I see my fate as nothing more than a blank slate.

I see comfort right here where I stand.

I see the world forcing me to be a man.

Watching the sunset on the same sea

never bored a simple-minded boy like me.

The forever fear that will never fade.

The thought of tomorrow scares me to this day.

So scared of getting older

I’m only good at being young

Wanting to break-through this time that always moves.

A herculean task to find the plot of the future.

Although the next day is a mystery

I continue to stay a trooper.

Regret, over the things I’ve already done.

I want to feel like my life has just begun.

So scared of getting older

I’m only good at being young

Refrain from “Stop This Train” a Song by John Mayer

A poem about me and how I am scared of the future.
