Distorted T.V
Plain but intricate
Walked past or stared at
The square but bent screen
Distorts your imperfect face
Turn left, long forehead
Bend down, dented chin
As i look at my reflection
I interrogate myself
Why are we so interested in a box
The portrayal of people as ordinary as us but different for an audience
That isn't them
This distorted figure isn't me
Yet it stares back at me as if it recognizes itself
Entrapping me within the blank hard glass slab.

I wrote this poem after looking at this highschool made sculpture in an art gallery, the T.V wasnt perfect and the screen bent just enough that whenever you looked at yourself your face was almost unrecognizable. As i looked into the T.V i realized that almost everyone is stuck on a screen, interested in everyone elses lives but their own and while realizing this all i also began to think that almost everything we watch and see wether on social media or T.V is staged and thats how this poem came about.
