Ode To Lunch

I sit at an old, green lunch table every single day,

Waiting for the last school day in the middle of May.

While most of my time at school wasn’t so fun,

At the end of the day, what's done is done.

I always wonder: did I make the right decisions?

Did I make enough revisions?

Did I make the right choices in my time?

Can I make my future mine?

I worry about all of these things in each and every thought,

I sometimes think I live in my own blind spot.

But I realized I’m happy the way things are,

And I know that I’ve come very very far.

After I have all of these deep questions,

It’s time for me to grab some concessions.

Every day I eat the same meal,

Spicy beef with rice, the taste is really real.

The friends I’ve met, I’ll cherish forever,

And the jokes that we’ve made…well some are clever.

Some of them are stupid and silly, almost from a fable,

But they were all made at the same old, green lunch table.
