Ode to the Age of the Internet
You are controlling
And we’re thankful for your existence.
Scrolling and scrolling
We have adapted
And learned
From your words
You have shaped us
And changed us.
Without you
We wouldn't have stories told
Stories to relate to.
We wouldn’t know of the phenomenons
Or the fire put out last week
You have taught us
Common sense.
You are our slave
And you are our friend
Basking us in knowledge
And supplying us with advice.
With the touch of our fingers
We have everything we want
So many things undiscovered
Before we found you.
You have created jobs
And futures
You have given people the chance of life
The ones and zeros
Have connected billions
And saved the lives of millions.
You influence us to choose the wrong or right
Morals have been taught
And morals have been lost
Secrets kept hidden for years, revealed to you.
You know all of us
before we know ourselves
And we thank you for that.
