HONESTY

Why did I not think of consequences?
Whilst we rejoiced in a brief hapiness,
Truth arrived and mingled with silences
And my former joy turned into vastness
Doth the honor of truth overpower
The short-lived pleasure of a web of lies?
Yes! For a web someday must devour
And truth, as pure as thee, shall never die
Though earn I did not, forgiveness I ask
Thou heart, made of gold, will surely pardon
I vow, no more now, will the truth be masked
Words I speak will be pure - chirps in gardens
And my lesson is learned, I swear to thee
Never again will I slight honesty
