O’ flag in the day you flutter without dismay. While we rest in bed you loom over our heads. We say a prayer to you every day yet you rarely respond. Our hearts go out to thee as you fly higher than any tree, but there are those among us who beat burn and stomp on you without a pace. showing the ultimate disgrace. Yet despite being black and blue you show no disdain and rain can’t ruin your parade. You fly high- you will never die, you can’t lie you are the symbol for, apple pie and the saying an eye for an eye, you fly like a bird, you soar on every word of allegiance, you hold no grievance. For you are the flag you don’t lag in your constant conquest of the sky and you will never expire for you fly higher and higher.
