Ode to my Mom
To the women who is frantic
Worried about me more than herself
I see transparency
You are not fooling me
I love you for what you do, can’t you see
You struggle for me
Like an old feeble chair lifting a seated person
You are my foundation
I am who I am because of you
If it were not for you, I would not make it through
Being broken with backs against the wall
If not for your strength, crushed we would be
I just hope that you see
The things you go through, are beyond me
You have ran a million miles, so I could take one step
I do not take you for granted
You are that strap on my chest in the car
The shelter that gives me a home
The only one who makes me feel not alone
The safety in my life, is you
To the woman who is frantic
I love you
Immensely, I do
Your smile screams of worry, for me
I wish you were worry free, as you would see life gets easy.
