Why Can't I?
Why is happiness so hard to find?
Tears well up in my eyes.
Desperation,
Too many feelings bombarding me at once,
My past is coming to haunt me like a horror movie.
Why is happiness so hard to find?
Friends come and go, leaving like leaves off of trees in Autumn.
Tear after tear, sadness filling me to the rim.
Why is happiness so hard to find?
The feeling of reassurance slowly forming, slowly closing in on me.
I promised myself it would be ok
Because
I know it will be.

I wrote this poem because I know most high school students feel this way and I know that I have at one point. I wrote this in my Creative Writing class and I like how it came out.
