The Candle is Out
Life's flame burns bright
A lengthening, elongating, twisting light
It burns in, it burns out
Lively and living, hissing about
Here it lives, ready to be blown out
Never. Never shall it ever be smothered out
It bites back and hisses
Here it fights and fizzes
And to one's fate
The candle is out too late
Smoke trails off those candles
Where their memories shall forever, ride in our saddles

I created this poem when sadness hit. A person passed away and even though I never knew that person very well, I think it's still important to honor those whose flames has gone out too. I use to have a old friend that passed and I miss them dearly, and to those who are suffering, just remember that they will always be with you, their smoke with always be there, lingering.
