Time, Running
Time is like liquid/ Some die. Some live. / Time Continues. / Some say that it is painful to wait. / Painful to wait to see someone again.// From birth, we all wait for something./ We all dream the same dreams and think the same thoughts./ We thirst for the same things all at different times in our lives./ But time flies. Time is like liquid, it never stops moving.// Life continues down the river of time./ The experiences of the days behind are just memories and the memories fade over time./ You’re no longer young./ You’re grown up./ You’ve seen love, you’ve felt love, you’ve been love, and now you have love./ The weight of the world has tested you with the wickedness it carries./ Time is like liquid. Time flies. // Time has encouraged you to grow. / Time measures the amount of joy you have in life and it maintains the limit of how much happens at once. / Time is the biggest aspect of life. // But when time asks “Will you wait?” You sit there. / You sit confused and hurt when time runs out too soon./ My dear, time is like liquid, and a river can run dry./ However, even a dry river continues down its bed.// Death./ It’s inevitable./ You don’t want to imagine time moving without them./ Children still grow and the sun still rises./ But when you’re waiting to see someone again, you’re personal time stands still./ Time is still flying and time is still liquid, but your time is frozen and their time is over./ So when time sits down and asks you a question, your response, always, “Don’t worry. I’ll wait.”

The theme of this poem is simply death. It explains the entire course of life until losing someone feels like death and then you, yourself are waiting for death. Anaphora is a very well-liked device in this piece. The word “time” is used to emphasize how underrated the meaning of time is.
