Haligan
Part 1
Pencil and paper,
All for a favor.
You walk on by
And stand by my side.
I never knew why.
I thought you saw a child
Even as I felt
My mind going wild.
I was losing control
And finally letting go.
I was letting my heart
Run wild and free.
Lost track of time,
Lost all common sense,
And you saw it all.

Part 2
I finally stopped.
I felt so numb.
It was finally done.
I no longer felt lost!
But in one quick grasp,
All was gone.
I never knew why
You took it all.

Our art teacher, a man with a kind soul, let me in every day. In return, I would offer my assistance in cleaning up the art room. It didn’t bother me to lend a helping hand. I got to return a favor, lend a helping hand, and enjoy the art that surrounded me.
The day I found my art style was the best suffering of all. He took one of my drawings, and I never saw it again. It broke me because it was the first true part of myself I had ever known. All of me was put in that sheet of paper. I was finally beginning to understand, but he took it all before I could truly comprehend.
