There was a switch in power.
It caused a war.
Thousands died.
But they wanted to kill more.

There was also a split.
It was the Hutu-Tutsi ethnic divide.
Millions of people’s lives were torn apart,
and the Rwandan people cried.

There were endless killings.
People died by and by.
It happened in one concentrate place.
In the Rwandan Genocide.

Many people fled.
They didn’t have a single say.
But did they know?
That they weren’t going to live another day.

But was there a point?
Or even a big enough point to let people die?
They will never be able to tell us
Because they were forced to lay down their lives.

But the Rwandan people will recover.
And no one will be able to a lie.
About how horrible and tragic.
Of which was the Rwandan Genocide.
