At least that’s what America preaches.
I am you and you are me
Except when applying for anything
Schools
Jobs
I’m forced to look apart in order to succeed
I am you and you are me
Except for when I speak about my feelings
My opinions are wrong and I’m simply whining
I am you and you are me
Except I fear the authorities in ways you can’t see
I am you and you are me
At least that’s what America sings.
