Reminiscence

I found her today

On the edge of reminiscence.

Her faint frigid breeze swept across my body

Pulling at my heart with her fragile fingers.

The emotions flooded back

From a past I recollect.

Her light shimmered down

Casting a veil of adolescence before my eyes.

She wrapped her fingers around mine

And we waited.

She whispered songs of solemnity

And I listened attentively.

Her voice isn’t familiar to most

But the birds chirp to her song

And trees rustle unrestful

While she cries on my shoulder.

When she speaks

Apples and leaves flood my senses

And I breathe it in.

When she’s angered

Her aroma becomes ubiquitous.

Her winds

Violent and entrancing

Seduce me into a coma of smoke;

I fall back and reminisce.

Her tethered breath awakens me and I listen.

Speaking truths of a past I do remember

She lures me with her presence.

Broken and beaten

She falls into my lap.

A distant memory

I do recall

But she's still a sliver of perfection
