You Made Them Last
“Seven Years”— you prayed to God.
And Seven years was what you got.
Seven years you watched me grow,
And seven years, I bury you low;
For seven years, I saw you smile
But for seven years, more,
I wish you'd stayed a while.
Seven years went by too fast,
But seven years:
You made them last.
