Blinding Vision
Waking up and looking out,
Seeing a blanket of snow.
Watching for green to sprout,
But the only color is of a black crow.
The white blankets everything around
And the world sits silently.
Smothering the air and ground
The freezing wind howls violently.
The edges of the flakes were pristine
As if carved by sculptor master.
Although they were perfectly crystalline,
Staying out too long would be a disaster.
I would be joyful if the snow just disappeared,
But I was perspicacious enough
To know that wouldn’t be adhered.
I’ve had enough of your powder puff.

This was just a piece I wrote about a year ago in my English class.
