Bloody Chains
Beauty in pain only rarely lies deep within the roots,
scars fade while burns on your skin wither to your bones as you lay awake.
Glowing anticipation of asylum slowly slips away,
straining yourself holding onto what could be and what awaits.
The part of your soul you’d angstly prayed wouldn’t leave your side,
denied a part in time that sits as flames rise to touch the sky.
Stuck stranded in the real world as you choke on his words,
deafening screams to the sky as your mind goes off the edge.
Every last ounce of blood dripping from your tormented excuse of a heart,
the skin on your once tenuous face turned rough,
accompanied by the inevitable burning in your blood shot eyes.
Unresponsive to the bottled up fears and empty promises in the air,
suffocated every step you take convinced the grim reapers creeping.
Loving to hurt or hurting for love.
