I love you, I hate you
Pictures are worth a thousand words
But the memories still sting like being stabbed by a hundred swords.
The good morning texts
And late-night calls left me perplexed.
Not a second vanished,
the thought of you all perished
Left my heart to rot
From the pain you brought.
So careless was I
To not be so shy
Wearing my heart on my sleeve
In the hopes you wouldn’t leave.
But here I lie,
As I try not to cry
Over the thought of us
As I lock away my heart, thus
Never letting it see light.
Never will it shine so bright
Like the reflection of the millions of stars,
Forever banished behind the cold bars
Built so strong
It is lifelong.
I hate you
For what you put me through,
But I hate myself even more
Because I still love you to the core.
