Ode to Graduation
A celebration, thanking the teachers,
Shaking each hand, walking across the
Stage, seeing the people who influenced us kids,
Into the adults we are now,
While feeling the wind through our hair
And some tears in somes eyes
Thanking the ones who fought for us
The most, the ones who
Used their own time on us,
To get to where we are right now
To the lessons we learned and
The mistakes we won't make again,
Saying our goodbyes to good friends
And saying hello to our future,
As we listen to the last speech,
We get our hats ready for the big throw,
We get butterflies, some being anxious
For the unknown, we walk out the building, watching
Our friends and families scream and shout,
We imagine the new future to come, and say thank you
For everyone who was there for you, all along.
