This is for all the tall people out there
I know the pain of ducking every time you get off the school bus
And how every time someone needs something off a high shelf they look at us.
I’m too familiar with the question: “How tall are you?”
Fighting through the tears I always croak back “6’2”
Do you know how much it makes my heart drop
When my friend can’t reach my hand after he says “up top!”
I have to curl up in my bed because my feet hang off it
And I have to stretch my legs all the time when I sit
You want me to drive your car? Neat!
Just please wait ten years for me to re-adjust the seat.
People always ask me how tall I am
And when I walk past short people they look up at me and go “god d**n
Most of my clothes only fit for a year
And when I hit my head on a ceiling my eyes being to tear.

But I guess being tall isn’t all bad
You could say that being able to touch the rim of a basketball hoop is pretty rad
There is not an exit sign, I cannot touch
So that’s a perk of growing so much.
The teacher always asks me to turn on the projector at school
And I can always stand in the deeper end of the pool
I’m closer to the sun, so I tan faster
When it comes to being tall I’m quite the master
So I guess being tall is pretty dope
If someone asked if I wanted to be shorter I’d say “nope”
