The Dangers of Isolation
The others kids were close, like socks coming in pairs
Yet I felt suffocated hidden behind the dryer
Tossed in a basket & taken miles away
But socks don't feel despair
& when one is without the other
Nobody cares
Left in the dark, of a sliding door
One of two will never get used
When a sock is without its pair

This poem shows the Dangers of Isolation because I used a pair of socks to explain the separation of two good friends, to show when a person is without their best friend, they have a hard time going out and finding another pair to fill the void.
