Fear
Fear is a cage,
A cage in a prison in fact.
Keeping us behind bars until we bail out.
Fear says, "I'll keep you safe,"
But he feeds us lies.
We listen and obey, never enjoying life.
Fear is a cage,
But cages have keys.
Fear doesn't know our plan, our plan to break out.
Fear can be oblivious,
But he can also be smart.
With little baby steps, he takes over our minds and hearts.

I was adopted at age 12, so I know a lot about fear. I hope "Fear" will help encourage others not to be taken over or paralyzed by a mere emotion.
