Keep Him
While presents are what we think makes the year
There’s more to the ending holiday than the winter cheer
While we anxiously await the coming of a man in a red suit
We forget who we are really waiting for - A man we call “The Truth”
While He doesn’t wear red like the jolly man adornes
He wears an important symbol - A crown filled with thorns
His first visit to us was on December 25th
Which, in my opinion, is greater than any gift
I love the nativity scenes and gape at the many decorations
For noticing the things he saved for me fills me with adoration
Christmas parties, eggnog, and gifts under the tree
Just don’t mean the same from you to me
For how you see your gifts are different than how I see
Because Santa didn’t bring the gift of life to me
Christmas is a reminder to all about how much God cares
For presents are for giving the love that we share
While the merry lights and Christmas cheer
Are something that we all hold dear
The infant Christ of lowly birth
Will bring good will and peace on Earth

I want to remind people to remember the real reason for the season.
