That one shot. That gun shot.
The one that made his heart stop.
Dont move! But he didn’t.
Keep your hands where I can see them! But he did.
Stop resisting! But he wasn’t.
you took him from us without a warning. You gave us no time even though there was no crime.
Those feelings I claim as mine..are gone. Do you think we are blind? We all saw the bullet go through his spine.
Dont try and hide it.
Dont try to fight it...We see everything.
Don’t move!
Keep your hands where I can see them!
Stop resisting!
BOOM.
To say this is liberty. To say this is equality. To say this is freedom.
To kill an innocent man from your own hatred. To kill my people to make you happy is nothing new to me.
But trust it’s hard to see these people dropping to the floor without being who they wanted to be.
Dont move!

I wrote this piece after realizing how much black people have suffered during and after slavery due to just being a color other than white. I wanted to express one way we are oppressed in society even though there have been many.
