Caged
I’ve always felt
trapped in a cage.
There’s a right way,
there’s a wrong way.
Go to school, study hard,
It’s okay.
I want to,
I’m expected to.
Every story is the same.
You have to be tame.
Wake up,
school, homework
College,
Marriage, kids
Silence.
I want to,
I have to.
“Be different,
make a change”
But I’m trapped.
Why am I crying?
Wasting my time?
Going through life
in this rhyme.
So why don’t I stop?
I want to, I need to.
But how?
