When I Was a Child
When I was a child, everything was new
There were no worries with my years so few
I would run and skip and hop all day
Snuggle up tight and sleep the night away
The dreams I dreamed I did pursue
My wings were fresh, and so I flew
My limitations, I had no clue
For that would make life grey
When I was a child
Five and four and three and two
Those were the days my heart felt true
Never skewed or even frayed
Imagination could not decay
I envy the innocence I soon outgrew
When I was a child
