Parade
Raise the banner!
Lift it high!
For the world to hark our creation
A walking fire, hissing snake
Controlling our nation
Queue the marching band,
Let the children sing
Of how much we love our king
Catching on the fever from a neighbor
A plague is in full swing.
The TV hums, our monarch comes
A scepter closed within his grasp
Reassuring us with a teleprompter speech
That change is finally here at last.
The pedestal's too high to get up from
To check on everything back on earth
So they stay in bed and fatten up
While people wonder what they're worth
But still, those dressed in plastic jewels,
Fools that leave flowers at their feet, and
Let them ride a throne of lies
Fifty promises that they'll never keep.
They take it all in, but they never exhale.
The geese chase their mother without any direction,
And when it blows up and hell closes in
We'll do it again in the next great election.
