Expectations
Everyone has a dream,
A life,
An idea.
Some expectation of how they want to live
A who?
A what?
Or where they want to be,
but me?
I just want someone to care
To notice
To see who I am and to love me for it
Someone who just wants me.
Not someone that wants who I’ll become
The things I’ve done or how I appear.
I realize it’s a double-edged sword,
I’m held to the same standard.
So maybe
Just maybe
That’s why my love life,
Is dead.
