The freedom we hold
So carelessly
We often forget
That it didn’t come free
Sacrifices were made
Many lives were lost
It’s hard to grasp
The absolute cost
How blessed we are
To live as we do
But sometimes I think
We don’t have a clue
How ungrateful we are
As we go day to day
Not remembering those
Who have made it this way
