The Wait
Years of deeds both right and wrong
Will one day decide my fate
I have a guess as to where I belong
But until I know for sure, I wait
I wait within a pitch black cave
Shackled amongst great filth and decay
To rancid water, I am but a slave
It corrodes my body; I wither away
Oh how I long for fury and fire
Though I would surely scream and yell,
Flames would be welcome over this mire
For purgatory is the true hell
But wait! The light of day at last!
Streaming in through an open door!
Alas, my time for judgement has passed
There's nothing left; I am no more
