Anger's Many Faces
Anger is a wave of lava
that flows within the veins;
it builds until the wall breaks down
and nothing else remains.
Anger is a ring of fire
that traps someone within;
it makes you feel caught and hopeless,
until something new begins.
Anger is a stone cold prison
that leaves you feeling drained;
it enters your soul and numbs your mind,
your wrists are bound and chained.
Anger is an endless void,
that swallows happiness whole;
it reels you in and spits you out,
but you know what it stole.
Anger is a lonely room
that confines your every thought;
it betrays your secrets and tells your lies
and leaves you there to rot.
Anger is a quiet bed
that leads to restless sleep;
it quells your thoughts but whispers soft:
"no one can hear you weep."
