I went to the beach to free my thoughts
Ran down the dry burning sand to wet my feet
Somehow I feel myself again
The buildup stress and fights at home
I urge the release of the accumulated rocks I hold in my back
I went to the beach to free my thoughts
My skin tingles from the rushing ice cold wave that brushed against me
Salt cleanses and cures my open bleeding wounds
Somehow I feel myself again
The vast naked ocean seems tranquil and alive
My breath retreats to its usual melancholic beat
I went to the beach to free my thoughts
Lost in the rhythmic pounding of the full tide
The last shy, tangerine rays, hide on the ocean’s back
Somehow I feel myself again
The moon rises from behind me, signaling my return home
I try to sweeten the salty taste I’m walking back to
I went to the beach to free my thoughts
Somehow I felt myself again
