Looking for peace with family at hand,
Separation isn't key,
What's with this new land.
I've traveled from poverty, desecrated parts
Hoping for peace
But peace is so far.
Parents and children, Uncles and Aunts, Gradpas and Grandmas, all still there.
They were promised freedom from a world of war and violence,
Instead they found cages without an alliance.
Camps of devastation like in World War 2,
What would you do if this happened to you?
We're all only human no matter what race, religion or belief,
No one deserves cages of defeat.
What did they do but hope and dream?
For something more than what they receive.
We are all different,
Not one alike,
Yet we treat others like diseases or something to fight.
We learn history as not to repeat,
Mistakes made by past entities.
Yet here we are taking away family, friends, hopes and dreams,
Stealing important things like common thieves.
I am no thief.
You can say what you want about me,
But everyone deserves to be free.
So take my words into your hearts,
No family deserves to be ripped apart.
Bad treatment is not something deserved,
But trust is something you have to earn.
