Thank you! That's cool that you still use film.  I was using a digital--my Nikon D3000.  I've worked with both Nikon and Canon DSLRs, and I prefer Nikon.  I don't know much about entry-level Canons, but for Nikon, the D3100 has excellent reviews and ratings;It replaced the D3000 this past year.  I hope that kinda helps?

I lovveee it! I have a question though. What camera are you using? Digital or film? I'm a photographer too but I'm thinking of switching over from fil to DSLR. Got any ideas on a good starter, but inexpensive?
