From the 17th Century to 19th Century. Through the American Revolution and the multiple wars. The world has changed from a broken, destroyed world to a fixed much improved world. Our World has completely transformed into a digitalized world. Everywhere I turn, all I see is pixels and pixels. Whenever I look back into the past, I feel that I am living in a world that is racing with the speed of light. Our world has been revolutionized. Not only in hardware aspect but also in the software aspect. The software programmers are changing the way we live life, and I want to be part of this future idea.  In preparation for the future, this world does require more programmers, who are also known as software engineers.

Over the years that I have seen the world operate, it was impressing because I have seen the world change from buttoned phones to smartphones, from regular laptops to 2-in-1 touch-screen laptops, and from a boxed shape TV, to a huge LED TV….. I have myself personally seen a lot, but I always think about how my parents feel. My parents have also told me a lot of their stories about how they were slowly transformed into this software world. If I think about it, it was probably much harder for them to mingle into these new technologies. This is because they had hardly ever used technological devices. I can't imagine how they felt when they got a smartphone for the first time. For my parents, it is not the advancements of certain technologies, but it about how it was invented. When my parents were talking to me about how they had a shock with these technologies, I was impressed. My dad explained in these exact words: “When I got my first laptop in my hands, it felt like I was holding a diamond that was worth 1000’s of dollars.” He felt as if it was really valuable and for us it would be like having god himself be in front of us and talking to us. My parents have talked and shared a lot about the way they lived their life and finally, after years, I understand why my parents were so hesitant on giving me a phone. My parents gave me a phone when I was in 6th grade, at this time I kept going behind them for a phone but for them they had to think a lot about it. They had to see if I really need the phone, they needed to analyze if I deserve it. For them this is as new as us learning about Calculus. At this point I was really desperate for a phone. They have never experienced this before. I went bugging them around the whole house. I would run after my dad and mom and not stop bugging them. Soon, I got a phone. Now after using it for 3 years I have started to realize why my parents had to consider so much to get me phone. For them they did not see phones as beneficial for me and something that could help me through my school year. During their school time, they had never used phones and laptops and they weren’t able to understand how today's generation schools run. This story and the passion of innovation and invention is what motivates me to become a software developer.

People think programmers have an easy job, but they really do not. These programmers keep coming up with new ideas and use different types of code and ideas to troubleshoot and figure out new problems. Today I take my phone out and take a picture with quality and clarity, for us it's just a click of a button. But for the programmers, they think about how to move through the camera, how to focus on object's, how to get the correct resolution and how to make it so it can meet customer satisfaction.. For us it's a 1 minute work, for them it's 1000’s of lines of code and almost a month's work. The software learning doesn't end there, there are a lot of software coding ways. Such as VB, Java, C++, Javascript and more. Our coders study the most intense one of these codes to make programs for us. I am personally shocked on what these people do every day and I am surprised on the advantages we have right now because of them. However, I feel that there needs to be more input in this field and I want to be a part of this, I want to help with the improvements that the future will receive.
This is not just about me, but I encourage more people to join me with this. When I think about it, 1 is always better than 2, and 2 is always better than 3. The same way the more number of software engineers there are, the more ideas that would be thought and the greater are the chances of a revolutionary idea. Software Engineers have made the world so advanced that your phone and technological devices are already in it's way of becoming a human through the process of AI. AI stands for Artificial Intelligence. The place I think many should concentrate during this time is Artificial Intelligence, which is the theory that these computer systems are able to perform human tasks such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages. These are just examples, there is definitely a lot more. This is the future that companies are investing millions and billions of dollars on. These software engineers need to code on and make improvements and come up with new ideas. With the human need of expecting more, software developers are in need to keep up with it.
Our support for software development does not stop there, there has been so much development with the industrial software machines that are taking the place of a lot of human workers. This is basically stating how the software developers are making the future of our business better. The companies running currently are giving off about half their profits to their workers, as salary. When they start program machines that can do all this work, and replace a lot of human jobs, the companies certainly make a lot more profit. This is just one of the positive reaction of a technical device, but there are certainly more and innovations will keep occurring.

Software Engineers can not only make our lives more easier and automated, but also add a lot of new creative programs. Games, EBooks, Google, almost everything that revolves around us is mostly technology. I would feel honoured to be a part in making our future a better environment. Software is there to make life more efficient and easier. When having the advantage, it is smart to use it. The future of this world will be more advanced in the direction and pace that we are walking on currently. Overall, our world is going to become a world that is going to spark up with digital systems everywhere. The future is in our hands, and utilizing it is very important…
