Those who forget history will often repeat it

Los Banos California is home. Everywhere you look mountains and hills that come in shockingly bright shades of yellowish green smile at you. When sunset comes, the sky becomes a book with words of purple, pink, and red.

As I walked around the town square, I saw the statue of Henry Miller, the father of Los Banos for many reasons: creating a railroad, making the area agricultural, and setting up businesses . Before that, there were the Spaniards and Indians from the missions. They discovered pools or bathes of water where they would camp overnight. That is why it is called Los Banos. It is Spanish for “the baths”. Then I went to the movie theater and the park. I breathed deeply through my nose. The smell of freshly mowed grass greeted me. It always smelled like grass no matter what season it was. It always smelled like home.
