Campfire at the Beach
When I looked around the campfire I saw three of my best friends. It was nighttime. It was cold and windy, but we were on the little cove of the cliff, out of the wind. We didn’t feel the cold too much, because the campfire and our friendship and happiness kept us warm. My feet sunk into the sand. It felt like a sand footbath. The sand was white and thinner than flour. The stars in the sky were many. They were impossible to count. Without a doubt there were more stars in the sky than grains of sand. The smell of the campfire was imprinted in our sweatshirts. It wasn't only the smell of the campfire but also the smell of the moment, of our friendship and our happiness .The music of our radio mixed with the music of the waves crashing on the sand.
It was April. All my friends and I knew that I was going to leave for one year in the USA. We didn’t know exactly where, but we knew I was going to leave . In summer, I always go to Britain with my family and stay in my grandmother’s house. She told me if I wanted, I could go to her house with my friends. I decided to go with 3 of my best friends named Paul, Gwenael and Niels. I had also known most of these friends for more than 10 years. They are important to me, and I didn’t want to leave my them without a last memory...
This was an important memory for me because it was one of my last ones with my friends before going to America. It was during my last vacation in a very beautiful place. A place where I use to go every year. And I went there with my friends, and had a good time, playing on the beach and making campfires during the night. Even though I am a thousand miles away, this memory is still unforgettable.
