Most of us have had siblings, whether they are older or younger than you they always seem to give you a hard time. Lucky for me I have two brothers, one is older and one is younger than me. They both can get really annoying at times but for different reasons. No matter what they do I’ll always love them.

My older brother is seventeen years old and his name is Evan. He’s shorter than me standing at about 5”7’. Evan has dark brown eyes, at times they almost look black because of how dark they are and he has thick brown hair.  Evan has always been a decent student, he never fails any classes and he's very athletic. The sports he plays are baseball, football and wrestling. I remember watching him play football and baseball since I was six. I’ve always looked up to my brother especially in sports. I really didn’t pay attention to sports, all I knew is to watch my brother. Growing up he’s always been the youngest in his age group and one of the smallest. Watching him practice one time I remember him flying by everyone because of how fast he was, watching him play was amazing I knew when I got old enough I was gonna try and play football, so I could be just like him.

For awhile I didn’t get to see my brother, it was almost a year when I finally got to see him. Every time I got to see him it was like receiving a present because of how rare it was to see him. Lately I’ve gotten to see him almost every few months. One of the last times was for my birthday, he took me to steele hill and we hung out for awhile swimming, playing catch and games in the main lobby. We were there for maybe two hours then we left. Our whole family situation is complicated.

After we hung out it was another 6 months before I saw him again. It was a scrimmage against my football team and his. It was pretty cool to see my brother play football for the first time in a while. He was starting QB for his team, he threw an interception which wasn’t that impressive but, he did get a few nice runs out of the pocket which was really amazing to watch. At the end of the game we got to talk and finally reconnect again. Yet again it was another few months before I saw him again and this was just recently. We both went to our mom’s house a day before Thanksgiving. Our little brother got to see both of us at the same time which is very rare for him. We played hide and seek with him outside, it was great to watch my little brother laughing with joy. The next day we went to Portsmouth with our family and this is the first time they have seen all three of us together at the same time, since my brother was born. After we ate the turkey we took a walk down to the park we always go to when we visit our family. It brought back so many good memories of the past with my brother.

When we were younger we saw each other almost every weekend. I would go to my mom's house in Gilford on Friday. Later that night we would drive down to a McDonald's in Wolfeboro to pick up my brother. Then we would drive back to Gilford and we would get to hang out all weekend. We would go in the backyard a swing on the rope swing, or throw acorns at each other, our backyard was filled with acorns from this huge oak tree. We would also take long walks in the woods with our moms boyfriend Jim. These are the times I miss with my brother, we don’t spend quality time like this with each other anymore.

Me spending time with my brothers is very valuable to me because I don't get to see them much anymore, especially my older one Evan. Everytime my dad tells me that Evan is going to moms I always want to go, I never question not going because I love my brothers and soon I won’t be able to see them at all, because my brother is going off to college and I am focusing on school and sports which leaves little time to spend with my younger brother. Always try and spend as much time with your family as you can because you never know when the next time you see them will be.

Growing up I saw my brother at least once a week, but when growing up I only see him about twice a year. I've grown up in a one parent household my whole life so my dad has it pretty hard.
