Loving Your Friends Requires Sacrafices
Sometimes you wonder if what you are doing is the right thing to do...or if its not. If you should speak out...or not I had to make that choice once. I was having a deep conversation with one of my friends, when she asked me if she could tell me a secret that I wouldn't tell anyone else. I regret what I did, but I said yes. I soon learned that she was deeply addicted to weed and alcohol, and was scared that she wouldn't be able to let it go.
I kept what she told me to myself, but after thinking it through, I went and told another one of my friends. She eventually told an adult, and the adult helped our friend. What makes me sad, is that my friend who was addicted to the stuff doesn't talk to me anymore. But throughout the whole ordeal, I've learned that its ok to put your friendships at risk, if it means saving a life. I lost a friend, but prevented a possible death.
