Have you ever had an obstacle to overcome? Much similar to Helen Keller had the obstacle of not being able to communicate. I too overcame my obstacle of wrecking my dirtbike. We both had to overcome our obstacles.
Helen overcame her obstacle by learning from her teacher Annie Sullivan. She was eager to learn and eventually she could communicate with sign language to anyone. Helens teacher Annie is the one who taught her to communicate and she became Helens life long friend. Before Annie could teach her to communicate she had to learn to obey, and once she could obey she could learn to communicate.
My obstacle was wrecking my TTR 125 dirt bike when I was 10. I had to learn not to drive as fast as I could. I practiced all the time and taught myself how to ride. Eventually I could go a day with only a couple of wrecks.
Our similarities were that we both learned to overcome what was stopping us from continuing forward. We were both reckless and sometimes breaking things. We both made mistakes and learned to overcome them. That is why I believe Helen Keller and I are alike through the hardships that we were both able to overcome. Helen Keller and i both overcame obstacles in our lives. I learned that the worst of problems can be overcome such as being blind and deaf. I also learned that if things go south never give up. Helen (Keller) once said “All the word is full of suffering. It is also full of overcoming.”
