Here Comes the Sun
Hot, stuffy classrooms are suddenly starting to disappear from the list of conversation topics across America, especially if you’re a middle or high school student. The whole year was spent going through the motions, carrying books from class to class, the droning voice of a teacher’s lecture or the ringing shouts of other students in the classroom still fill the ears of all of us kids around the country. But now, finally, FINALLY, the summer sun is starting to shine through the fog that is school, which has been covering our eyes for the past nine months.
In reality school hasn’t been all bad and we know it. We’ve made new friends, learned some new things, but we are all completely worn out by doing last minute homework, studying, and running a grueling gauntlet of finals and giant tests to finish out the year. It has finally started to get in our heads that summer is near, so we’ve finally started our planning for the next three months.
We are all having visions of swimming pools dance in our heads, dreaming of putting on our bathing suits and heading to the beach or throwing on our evening wear and going out with friends. It’s something that we are constantly thinking about throughout the school year, but these last few days of school or even the first days of summer it is our one and only thought. Get out of school and get into our new shades or flip-flops! Who doesn’t want that?!
Are you going to the beach or to the water park to tan and enjoy the water? Are you headed to the mall to hang out with some buds in the A/C? Or maybe you’re the type of person who sleeps in and relaxes all summer. Whatever you do this summer, enjoy it. Make it the best summer of your life and have fun with people you love. Be safe and live it to the fullest!
