My big Dream
A BIG Dream.
This was when I finally learned and understood my passion for when I grow up. Yes, I wanted to be a doctor, even a basketball player. But, the one thing I loved even more was acting and Gymnastics. I remember the first time 5 years old. Going to charities and acting preforming a skit. It was when the only time people and I took seriously. To my mom, she says that it was a way for me to escape out of the world and become in somebody else shoes. Personally, when I grow up I wanted to say, “I love my job”.
Taking with that my mom and dad knew that I would make a good actor. In my family there were also a few stars, such as Jason Williams, and a very old school famous Baseball player last name Alston, my great grandfather.. So my mom signed me up for an audition to a school play in 2nd grade called “The Alley Cats”. Excited Franticly, I thought to myself other people thought that it was just a school play, but to me it was Big….Real Big. Think about it. I was only 6 at the time. I still didn’t even have half of my teeth in, and I still had a little bit of stage fright. But, I knew that I f I had one more chance; it was this opportunity to take, so I took it. The next day was the time to shine, so I got my script from my mom and studied .Studied. Studied.
I worked real hard for this, some nights I forgot to eat. All of a sudden a wave of tired ness took over me fighting it, losing the battle I fell into a trance. I needed sleep for the next day.
The next day it was the play. I had been all day yesterday and just now done finishing my lines. I ate breakfast, bacon, waffles, eggs, orange juice, today is going to be a good day. I then took a shower put my clothes on and we were out the door.
“Are you nervous?” my mom asked.
“A lill’ bit”, I said.
Of course I was nervous, anyone would be right? The car was silent. No music. An hour later we arrived. The building was fancy, the chandeliers and everything. AS we walked down my mom signed in and we sat. All of a sudden a tall skinny guy, nerdy like called the little boys name he walked in the door nervous as I was.
Minute passed the boy came out, his face was sad , as I watched his emotion I thought to myself that to not take it personal if I don’t get it. Even if it was my Lifelong dream. Then, the guy came out again.
“Jaleah?”
My hands sweated wet with ease, shaking.
“Y-y--y-e-s?”
I stood up not even looking at my mom just looking straight at the guy. I went in the room. Never to be seen.
“Hi”, I said
“Start your skit now”, they said.
They didn’t like me what a good start”
I said my skit with confidence, I wanted to show them that I was a true actor . And didn’t care what other people think.
“Wow”, they said. I knew it would pay off.
I came out with a big smile on my face and a Bright – Orange slip off paper to success .
This was my Big Dream in reality.
