My Cat
I love my cat Beauty Queen, or Beauty for short. She is the perfect cat. She never meows, she never begs for food, all she does is walk around and sleep most of the time. She has yellow eyes and is a Persian with black fur. My mom got Beauty as a kitten before I was born so I don’t know what happened when she was really young. I don’t think Beauty liked me a lot as a child because I always tried to pick her up, I loved her though.
Beauty is a healthy cat until she got older but she is always happy. She never likes going to the vet, whenever we got back home and opened up her carriage she bolted away downstairs. Beauty liked my mom more than anyone else so she sat with her all the time and I didn’t like that. I never knew why she liked my mom more than me. She would come sit with me for a little bit but always left. Whenever I saw her I would pet her.
Beauty never minded when other visitor's came over. As beauty got older she started to meow a lot because she was in pain, she did this mostly at night. It made me sad because there was nothing I could do. When we took her to the vet they told us she had kidney failure. She was still a happy cat after and started to like me more. We started to take her to the vet a little more than usual because of her kidney issue.
She would meow every night which was annoying but I understood and it was painful too because I wanted to help but I couldn’t. We had to give her medicine by putting it in her mouth but she resisted but we eventually were able to get the medicine in. We’re lucky that she doesn't bite people because she probably would have bit my mom. When Beauty was only a few days away from her death she couldn’t walk. I was going camping for the weekend but I wanted to stay but I couldn’t. When I got back she was still alive and I was happy.
The next day was probably the worst day of my life, When my mom picked me up she told me Beauty had passed away and I was really sad.
“Are you being serious?” I asked.
“Yes,” My mom replied
It made me sad because I’ll never see her again. I missed her so much already. She died on March 29, 2010. It didn’t take long to get over her death but I was still very disappointed. A few months after her death I thought it would be a good time to get a dog but my parents said no. A few years later my dad told my dad told me that we were going to adopt two 5 year old cats from the Salem Animal Rescue League. I was very happy. We surprised mom when me and my dad got back home. There names are Hope and Grace. Hope is a skinny but loving cat. She will annoy you a lot but loves everyone. She also misbehaves and jumps on the counter. Grace is skittish and doesn’t misbehave.
I never thought I would find a cat that I would love just as much as beauty, But I did, Hope comes close. She loves me and annoys me. The thing is though I still miss Beauty to this very day and wish she was here. She was 14 years old when she died. You should treasure every moment with your pet because they don’t last long. Pets are one of the best things you could ever own, and Beauty was a prime example of this. I love you Beauty.
