The Thanksgiving Feast
The time me and my family had a big feast I enjoyed it. Ma made chicken and macaroni. My mouth watered because I wanted to eat it so badly. “Ma can I please just have a bite”? “No, you may not if you’re cousins are able to wait then you can too”. I then walked away from the kitchen. Now that the food was ready Ma was getting dressed to head out. We were going to Auntie’s house to celebrate the feast, and I was excited.
We walked five blocks to Auntie’s house and we were finally there. Auntie’s daughter Marie opened the door for us. From what I was seeing there was definitely a lot of kids there. I couldn’t believe my eyes to what Auntie cooked and the way she decorated the house. She cooked pasta with American cheese, salad with ranch sauce, turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn bread. I was rushing for the food to be set on the table. Everybody had to help Auntie place the food on the table. We all grabbed a dish (including the little kids) and placed it on the table. Then, my seven year old cousin was last to put the macaroni and cheese on the table. Out of nowhere the food slipped out of his hand and spilled on the floor. Auntie was in shock. ”Oh my god, what have you done”? “I’m sorry Auntie, I didn’t mean to but it was that shoe that made me do this mess”. “It’s ok we still have plenty of food to eat”.
I was glad that Auntie wasn’t mad at my cousin. There was laughter and chattering all over the table as a family. It was a really enjoyable moment for us. I suggested that we go around the table saying what we were thankful for before we rapped up. After we’d done that it was starting to get really dark outside so Ma decided that we should take the road home and we did. This is the time I enjoyed Thanksgiving at Auntie’s house.
