Loud City
It is a city like no other; a new born legacy with only a future to grasp. This was an incredible team with overflowing talent in pursuit of a championship. This was the Oklahoma city Thunder during their very first year in the NBA. It is A new franchise, with a city that would support It like a brother.
I was just thirteen years old when the Thunder came, and boy was I excited. Our state would finally have a professional team! Luckily, my dad had bought floor seats for a home game versus the Lakers! I was so ready to see Kevin Durant in action. He was without a doubt my favorite player in the league.
When we got to the stadium, people were pouring in from every street chanting, “Thunder Up!” The atmosphere of the arena was electric and supportive. Everyone had great team spirit. When I finally arrived at my seat, I got to watch Durant warm-up and Shoot! I was just an arm’s reach away from one of my idols!
The tip-off came and everyone cheered as we won the first possession! The best moment of all was when we got a fast-break. Durant came to my corner, just in front of me, and shot a three! SWISH! We both yelled and he high-fived me as he went back to play defense! BEST. MEMORY. EVER.
